Litigating climate change

Friday, March 29, 2019 13:00to14:30
Chancellor Day Hall NCDH 312, 3644 rue Peel, Montreal, QC, H3A 1W9, CA

Join us for a conversation on the law and policy of carbon emissions legislation in Canada.

The McGill Journal of Sustainable Development Law (MJSDL) hosts Lisa DeMarco (DeMarco Allan LLP), Professor Christopher Barrington-Leigh (McGill), and Professor Jean Leclair (U de M) in a discussion of the references before the provincial courts of appeal in Ontario and Saskatchewan challenging Trudeau’s carbon tax.

At stake are Canada’s backstop carbon legislation, the future of cooperative federalism in Canada, and the viability of federal and provincial policy to combat climate change. The stakes couldn’t be higher.

We hope to see you there! Registration to secure your spot is recommended.
