Le Centre sur les droits de la personne et le pluralisme juridique vous convie à un panel avec les boursières O’Brien en résidence Fatemeh Sadeghi Givi, Marianne Bevan et Sharanjeet Parmar. Elle débattront de la manière dont la loi joue un rôle essentiel dans la réalisation de la justice de genre dans les processus de transformation sociale, malgré ses lacunes.
Les échanges seront modérés par le professeur Payam Akhavan.
Les panélistes (en anglais seulement)
- Marianne Bevan has a background in international development, focused on gender, peace and security. She earned a Master of Development Studies from Victoria University and conducted research in Timor- Leste on gender and United Nations police reform.
- Sharanjeet Parmar is a recognised expert on transitional justice, anticorruption, conflict- related sexual violence and rule of law. She holds a Master of Laws with distinction in International Legal Studies from New York University School of Law, and an LL.B. from Dalhousie Law School.
- Fatemeh Sadeghi is a researcher and lecturer of political science and gender studies in Iran. She is a specialist in political thought, gender studies, Islamic political thoughts, and Iranian politics. She obtained her PhD in Political Thought in 2004 from Tarbiat Modarres University in Tehran.
