“Leveling Up" Academic Library Gaming Collections and Services

The role of libraries and librarians in relation to gaming is evolving with the increased expectations and uptake from students and faculty. It is becoming increasingly important to ensure that librarians take a more active role in ensuring their growing game collections are used to their full potential in supporting serious play efforts. In this webinar, Michelle Goodridge will discuss how game librarians can support academic and non-academic programming in a variety of ways. Among other important tips and tricks, Michelle will walk participants through the process of how to create multipurpose collections that support recreation, non-academic programming and ‘serious’ research, and how to advocate for inclusivity in design and maintenance of game collections.

Michelle Goodridge is a liaison librarian at Wilfrid Laurier University, and has spent the last 4 years developing her skills and seeking out game-related library projects.

Webinar begins at 3 PM
