Lost or damaged items

This information applies to: Members of the community
  • You will be billed for the replacement cost of items that are not returned or renewed 14 days after the due date (except for items in high demand that cannot be renewed: 10 days for items that have been recalled).
  • If the Library determines that a damaged item can be repaired, you will be charged the cost of the repair. If the Library determines that the item cannot be repaired, you must pay the replacement cost.

Replacement costs for books and A/V materials

  • You will be charged the current actual price of the item (or if the price is not available, a default price of $50) together with a $50 processing fee.
  • We will refund your money if you find and return the book within 6 months of making the payment, provided the book has not been reordered. The refund will be for the replacement cost only and not the processing fee. On presentation of receipt, a refund will be issued by the original form of payment.
