4 O'Clock Forum: Signalling and transcriptional regulation of immune evasion genes in trypanosomes

Thursday, January 31, 2019 16:00
Raymond Building R3-048, 21111 Lakeshore Road, St Anne de Bellevue, QC, H9X 3V9, CA

4 O'Clock Forum starts off 2019 with a talk by Dr Igor Cestari, Institute of Parasitology.

Dr. Cestari obtained his BS degree in biology, and MSc and Ph.D. degrees in molecular and cellular biology studying the mechanisms of immune evasion by parasites. During his postdoc he investigated the mechanisms that control antigenic variation in trypanosomes. In 2018, he joined the Institute of Parasitology at McGill University; his laboratory focuses on cell signalling and transcriptional control mechanisms that govern antigenic variation and life stage development in trypanosomes and explores these processes for drug development.

Light refreshments will be served. ALL VISITORS WELCOME!
