It is with great pleasure that the McGill Sustainability Systems Initiative (MSSI) invites you to attend the second lecture in our exciting 2017 fall series.

Frances Seymour, a Distinguished Senior Fellow at the World Resources Institute in Washington, DC, will present on the importance of making a link between forests, carbon and cities for mitigating global climate change – and the benefits and challenges of taking this interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral perspective.

Frances' visit to McGill is jointly hosted by the McGill Sustainability Systems Initiative Invited Speaker Series and  Wood at Work 2017, an annual conference and community of practice that links designers, engineers and urbanists who use wood with the people and communities that make sourcing this wood sustainable and beneficial for people and forests.

Schedule:

2:00 – 5:00 pm, in the SSMU Building #203 (2nd Floor), Lev Bukhman Room, 3480 McTavish.

3:00 pm – 4:00 pm: Frances’ Seymour Talk and Question period.

4:00 pm – 5:00 pm:  As always, a reception will follow the event. We invite you to stay for wine and snacks and to connect with sustainability colleagues old and new, including participants from the Wood at Work conference.

We warmly invite members of the MSSI community, Wood at Work participants, and the broader community to join us for this exciting event.
