What does it mean to be a Mastercard scholar?
Being an Mastercard Foundation scholar means being a gamechanger! With the invaluable opportunities presented to scholars- they have many chances to translate the theory they’ve learnt [during their studies] into practical and innovative solutions for the benefit of their native societies on the African continent.
What value or impact has being an Mastercard Foundation Scholar added to your life?
Giving back to my society is my top priority as I practice my career in my life. Being an Mastercard Foundation scholar has help me to oversee the technological development of a composite flour that is beneficial to schooling children, and this being the first food innovation for schools in Uganda, it will positively impact millions of children in the communities in which I live and thrive in.
What do you hope the program's legacy will be in 2030?
I hope that in 2030, the program will have a network of scholar-alumni who will be well-equipped with the relevant knowledge and practical skills to advance and achieve the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and to co-influence the socio-economic transformation of the African continent.
