McGill Alumni Africa Network

The McGill Alumni Africa Network was created under the Mastercard Foundation Transitions Project, to support Mastercard Foundation Scholars and other McGill students who engage with Africa, in their efforts to contribute to advancing development on the continent.

Our goal is to create a robust and supportive community that will help Mastercard Foundation Scholars and other eligible students to connect, communicate, and enrich their personal and professional lives. As a group that promotes the personal and professional growth of underrepresented communities, the Network is also closely aligned with the McGill Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Plan.

Ways to Get Involved

  1. Attend an event: Create networking opportunities for Mastercard Foundation Scholars and recent graduates by attending upcoming events.
  2. Offer an internship: Create a transformative experiential learning opportunity by offering a paid full-time or part-time internship at your organization. Some funding may be available to support part of the salary of a Mastercard Foundation intern.
  3. Support entrepreneurs: Provide opportunities for Mastercard Foundation Scholars and alumni to collaborate with you or your organization by developing entrepreneurial and employment-creation projects with impact in Africa and beyond.
  4. Become a mentor: Share your knowledge and insights with the next generation by signing up for the new Mastercard Foundation Scholars Mentorship Program.

Are you interested in getting involved with the McGill Alumni Africa Network?  If you are interested in hosting an intern, entrepreneurship collaborations, or becoming a mentor, we would love to hear from you.
