Victoria Anson wins the Lucy Rosato Undergraduate Scholarship in Science and Engineering

Victoria Anson, a fourth-year Materials Engineering Co-op Program student, received the Lucy Rosato Undergraduate Scholarship in Science and Engineering at the 63rd Annual Conference of Metallurgists (COM 2024) in Halifax. This is the highest undergraduate student award granted by the Hydrometallurgy Section of the Metallurgy and Materials Society (MetSoc) under the Canadian Institute of Mining Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM). This Canadian scholarship is awarded to a female student with a passion for hydrometallurgy on the basis of high academic achievement and involvement in the field. Victoria completed one of her co-op internships at CEZinc, a Glencore zinc hydrometallurgy plant. As president of the McGill MetSoc Student Chapter, she has organized a variety of events with industry. Victoria also participates in peer mentorship programs to support first-year materials engineering female students. Victoria intends on pursuing graduate studies in the field of extractive metallurgy.
