Title: Deforming foliations in branched covers and the L-space conjecture.
Abstract: We discuss Thurston's universal circle representation and describe how it can be used to study the left-orderability of the fundamental groups of cyclic branched covers of links which admit co-oriented taut foliations. This is joint work with Ying Hu.
