However\, it is n ot always easy to extract information from the invariant for concrete mode l equations in applications. In this talk I will introduce the Morse-Floer construction\, which captures links between information about critical po ints (equilibria) and information about connecting orbits. The latter hete roclinic transition trajectories may for example describe travelling waves in applications. This leads to forcing results\, and rigorously validated numerical computations of equilibria can be used to draw conclusions abou t the forced minimal set of transition trajectories between the equilibria . This talk is based on joint work in progress with Marcio Gameiro\, Jean- Philippe Lessard and Robert van der Vorst.\n DTSTART:20190121T210000Z DTEND:20190121T220000Z LOCATION:Room 1104\, Burnside Hall\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 0B9\, 805 rue Sherbrooke Ouest SUMMARY:Jan Bouwe van den Berg ( Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) URL:https://www.mcgill.ca/mathstat/channels/event/jan-bouwe-van-den-berg-vr ije-universiteit-amsterdam-293256 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
