HEC Lausanne, also called the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Lausanne, is the affiliated business school of the University of Lausanne. Originally founded as the Académie in 1537, the University of Lausanne (UNIL) is a modern institution that, along with neighboring Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), forms a focal point for higher education and leading research, at not only a local level, but also at a national and international level. With seven faculties (Theology and Religious Studies, Law and Criminal Justice, Arts, Social and Political Sciences, Business and Economics, Geosciences and Environment, Biology and Medicine), the University of Lausanne is a well-rounded university.
