Important Information

  • Availability of exchange at UCL for Fall, Winter, or full year depends on the program of study. Please verify that your intended program is available for your exchange semester before selecting this partner. 
  • Students cannot register to courses within the Department of Economics, Department of English, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Medicine and from the Slade School of Fine Arts.
  • Courses from the Political Sciences Department have limited capacity.
  • For 2025-2026, courses from the Computer Science Department are only offered to students who wish to study for a full academic year (September to June or January to June).

    Entry Requirements  

    • Students should have achieved at least a 2:1 or equivalent (for example, a 3.3/4.0 GPA).
    • Students should have Computer Science (or a similar subject) as their major subject (or major option) at their home university, i.e., they cannot have CS as their minor or secondary subject. A similar subject includes, for example, computing technologies, computer engineering, etc at the discretion of the CS Tutor for Affiliate Students.
    • For students of a 4-year undergraduate degree, they can study in CS at UCL in their 3rd year (Terms 2&3 or the full academic year). Term 1 only study is not possible.

    Module Selection

    • Students admitted to CS should obtain 45 - 60 credits in each term, which usually means taking three or four 15-credit modules.
    • Students should choose modules provided by the CS department. In special cases, a student may be allowed to apply for at most 1 non-CS module per term subject to approval and availability.
    • An example list of CS modules offered to exchange students can be found at https://www.ucl.ac.uk/prospective-students/study-abroad-at-ucl/subjects/computer-science/. Applicants should search each module code at https://www.ucl.ac.uk/module-catalogue/ for the latest, most detailed information about a module, including methods of assessment. Please note that modules for 2025-26 will be confirmed in spring 2025.

  • Students must take into consideration the Course Exceptions and must confirm the timing and delivery mode of courses directly with the Host institution. Please note that virtual or remote courses are not permitted.
  • Proof of English Language proficiency may be required in order to obtain a visa.
