From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Professor Pedro Pacheco

Pedro Pacheco (EdD Adult and Community Education, Ball State University) is associate professor at the Instituto Tecnologicol y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) and co-founder of Ten Houses for Ten Families (10X10), an educational and research program oriented to helping low-income families in urban Monterrey to build housing and community. This generic housing delivery model is being promoted at local, national, and international forums to address sustainable housing and community issues.

Dr. Pacheco has extensive experience in community development and is promoting a sustainable research agenda in the educational context. He is a member of several committees at the local and state levels promoting appropriate technologies in the construction industry.

Dr. Pacheco is co-designer of the Second Change Game (SCG), an innovative environmental game played by 6th-8th grade students to raise awareness about the ecological impact of our daily decisions. The SCG was designed collaboratively with: Dr. John Motloch, a primary school, a teacher, and staff members of the Minnetrista Cultural Center and Oakhurst Gardens, a cultural and environmental center based in Muncie, Indiana. The SCG is being promoted at local, national, and international forums to be played by audiences beyond the city of Muncie.
