Dr. Joseph Cox
Biography:
Dr. Joseph Cox is a public health researcher focused on sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBI) such as HIV and HCV. Using quantitative methods, he seeks to understand risks for STBBIs and poor health outcomes, among vulnerable populations (men who have sex with men, people with substance use disorders, people living with HIV/HCV). He also evaluates STBBI-related prevention and care interventions in these populations. He is active in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education as well as graduate-level teaching in epidemiology and public health. He co-teaches a 3-credit course called Principles of Public Health Practice annually.
