HIV treatment and cure

Inherited from the McGill AIDS Centre, MCVD has a strong team of HIV researchers working at several important forefronts in the HIV field. These include:

  1. Antiretroviral therapy and drug resistance;
  2. Immune regulation of HIV infection;
  3. Host resistance to HIV infection and HIV cure; and
  4. Care and treatment of HIV patients including immigrants and refugees.

Taken together, members of MCVD are taking the challenges of ending AIDS and finding a cure of HIV infection, building and joining HIV Cure research teams, collaborating with researchers outside McGill. Equally important, to meet the WHO 90-90-90 goal in Canada, researchers and health professionals at MCVD promote HIV diagnosis, implement antiretroviral prevention and treatment strategies, and monitor HIV transmission across all community groups.
