Career Planning Advice

External Resources

There are many specialties, subspecialties, and practice settings to choose from in medicine. Whether you already have an idea in mind, or are completely bewildered by all the information out there, it’s still helpful to gather more information about these options.

The Office of Medical Learner Affairs has gathered some external resources for you to explore your career options. Here, you’ll find online resources, specialty and subspecialty profiles, and links to podcasts that will provide you with all kinds of useful information, including

  • An overview of the specialty
  • A day in the life of a particular physician
  • Interviews with physicians from many different specialties
  • ...and more!

In the menu on the left, you'll find a list of resources for you to consult on various topics pertinent to career planning in medicine.

The Office of Medical Learner Affairs does not manage or own the content of any of these pages, however over the years we have found them to be useful and many of them come recommended from prior year graduates.

Please feel free to contact us if you discover something you think ought to be listed here!
