Did you know...

  • Units can customize their questionnaires? Note that for Fall 2018 course evaluations, final versions of questionnaires must be submitted by Thursday, October 18. Units are encouraged to obtain feedback on their questionnaires from Teaching and Learning Services (TLS). More information about questionnaires, including your unit’s current questionnaire, is available here. Please contact mercury.info [at] mcgill.ca for all questionnaire-related matters.

  • Instructors may add up to three questions to their questionnaires? This is an opportunity for instructors to receive feedback specific to the course context or a particular area of interest, such as new teaching strategies. Instructors should use this form to submit their questions for Fall 2018 course evaluations by Friday, November 2.

Updated bank of recommended questions

To facilitate the customization of questionnaires, TLS has created a guide to selecting and developing appropriate questions. This document, titled “Course evaluation questionnaires: Gathering feedback you can act on,” includes an updated bank of recommended questions. This document also includes questions that address diversity, inclusion, and accessibility; guidelines for writing meaningful questions; and examples of instructor-added questions. A French version of the document is available.

While this web page is accessible worldwide, McGill University is on land which has served and continues to serve as a site of meeting and exchange amongst Indigenous peoples, including the Haudenosaunee and Anishinabeg nations. Teaching and Learning Services acknowledges and thanks the diverse Indigenous peoples whose footsteps mark this territory on which peoples of the world now gather. This land acknowledgement is shared as a starting point to provide context for further learning and action.
