Makeda Semret

Makeda Semret's clinical research interests is in assessing interventions to inform clinical decision-making for common infectious syndromes, with the goal of reducing the burden of AMR in high and low-resource settings. She leads a prospective study assessing the impact of laboratory and antimicrobial stewardship interventions in Ethiopia. She is the Canadian PI of an international study assessing the differential impact of infection control practices and antimicrobial prescription quality on the gut microbiota.
She is also site PI and Co-investigator for several therapeutic trials for COVID-19 at the McGill University health Centre.
