The Orange Trail is well-drained presently. In some areas, several of the other trails are not.
Here is our suggestion of an itinerary to enjoy spring blooms:
Walk through the maple grove by taking the Orange Trail counter-clockwise towards Blossom Corner where you will find a great selection of flowering tree and shrub cultivars. Continue on the Orange Trail or take the Canada 150 Trail northward. As you approach Maple Corner after walking along the Branchery Field, turn left to take the yellow trail and follow the signage southward as you go through a diverse mature forest and close the loop. (If you don’t already have a copy of our free flyer describing the spring flower of the sugar grove understory, ask for one at the Gatehouse.)
On the walking trails, wear waterproof boots and expect to sink up to your ankles in certain spots.
