As part of developing a community response to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, the Unitarian Church is holding a speaker series to raise awareness of indigenous cultures. Childcare will be available. Free admission, but bring your questions and be prepared to engage in dialogue,

Speaker: Michelle Smith

Michelle Smith is an award-winning filmmaker, media artist and educator of Métis ancestry. She uses diverse media and participatory strategies to explore issues around indigenous identity, education and intercultural experience. Her talk will include her short film Buried Traces which explores questions of Métis identity, cultural loss and renewal.
