My research investigates the rhythmic practice of hip-hop MCs: specifically, how accented and rhyming syllables, syllabic density, micro-temporal inflections, and recurring rhythmic patterns are used in rap vocals. Other research interests include analysis and performance, music phenomenology, corpus-driven analysis, and Renaissance polyphonic music. I am also professionally active as a percussionist, mainly in the area of chamber music.
