This January 17 and 18, the Classical and Romantic periods meet with Sibelius's last symphony and two classic Mozart concertos. Concerto Competition Finalist Tyler Song will perform the Clarinet Concerto - one of the first masterpieces for the instrument - on both concerts, and Competition winner Pinchas Antal will conclude the second performance with the dark, symphonically textured Piano Concerto in C minor. Doctoral student in conducting Jeffrey Klefstad will lead the orchestra in Sibelius’s gripping and seamless single-movement 7th Symphony.
Please note that a modified version of this program will be presented on January 17.
