Zihua Tan (student of John Rea - DMus program) wins composition prize in Thailand

Mahidol University's College of Music (Bangkok), in collaboration with Goethe-Institut (Thailand), recently hosted the "Young Composers in Southeast Asia Competition & Festival 2013". The event invited composers from Southeast Asia to present their compositions. Ten composers were selected by international jury members to attend a workshop to present their credentials and discuss on their outstanding pieces.

After the four-day-workshop sessions among the 10 finalists, the international jury members, and Ensemble Mosaik, a Winners' Concert took place on Sunday, December 15th, 2013 at the Music Auditorium, College of Music, Mahidol University and three winners were awarded with no ranking. Each winner received a winner's certificate and a cash prize of 2000 Euro.

The Three Winners of the Young Composers Competition 2013 are:
1. Mr. Zihua Tan, Malaysia
2. Mr. Chow Shern Yeo, Malaysia
3. Mr. Liew Kongmeng, Singapore
