Performer-controlled electronics in post-instrumental practice
How has musicians' practice evolved through the inclusion of performer-controlled electronic devices into instrumental settings? How can one develop an organic and natural relationship to such devices in order to effectively incorporate them into performance? I plan on conducting a historical survey of such works, and look at literature on the use of live electronics to discuss the practical and philosophical issues involved in this type of performance.
