Part I: Intro to Course Registration (May 22 – 24, 2024)

A virtual information session where you will learn how to use Minerva and other course planning tools to register for courses. Sessions available in both English and French.

Registration detail to be confirmed in early May.

Part 2: What to Register For (June 5 or 11, 2024)

In this virtual information session, we will explain what you need to look out for when for registering courses in your music program. Key information such as registration tips, program requirement, transfer credits, placement exams will be provided. There will be an opportunity to ask questions at the end.

For Cegep & transfer students (U1)
You are considered a U1 student if you have completed,
or
are about to complete a DEC from CEGEP, have completed an IB diploma or French Baccalaureate,
or
are transferring from another music conservatory, US college or university.
For High School students (U0)
You are considered a U0 student if you are arriving from high school.

Part 3: Post Placement Exam and Transfer Credits Registration Info Session

In this interactive info session, we will address more specific registration questions such as which courses students will typically register for after having received their placement exam results and a summary of their transfer credits.

Part 4 A: Welcome Orientation Day 1

This is a key in-person event for all new undergraduate music students. In this orientation, you will meet representatives from the faculty and student service units who you will encounter in your journey as a student at the Schulich School of Music. Featured speakers include the Dean, the Associate Dean Academic & Student Affairs, and members from Student Services, the Ensemble Office, the Music Library, Concert & Publicity, etc.

PART 4 B: Welcome Orientation Day 2

This serves as a continuation of the Welcome Session, providing you with a chance to connect with your fellow incoming students and engage with representatives from the Schulich School of Music in small groups.

During this event, you'll embark on a circuit tour that will take you through classrooms and the Music library. This tour will allow you the opportunity to engage in conversations with key individuals who can provide insights into life at the Schulich School of Music. These individuals include the Associate Dean, advising staff from the Music Student Affairs Office, the Wellness Hub, Peer Mentor program, etc.. Additionally, you'll have the chance to explore the Marvin Duchow Music Library.

Part 5: Meet and Greet with Program Coordinator

Meet your Program Coordinator to gain some insider tips specific to your program!

Small group meetings where you will have a chance to meet your Program Coordinator and to mingle with new students admitted to the same program. This meeting will take place before the first week of class. Exact time and location for these meetings will be confirmed in early June.
