Biographie: 

Les objectifs des travaux effectués au laboratoire du Pr Stefano Stifani sont les suivants.

  1. Comprendre les mécanismes moléculaires qui régulent l’autorenouvellement, la prolifération et la différenciation de cellules progénitrices/souches neuronales (NSPC) dans le cerveau en développement et postnatal, avec un intérêt particulier pour le cortex cérébral.
  2. Caractériser les mécanismes moléculaires sous-jacents à la croissance et à la propagation de la forme la plus maligne du cancer du cerveau, le glioblastome.
  3. Faire la lumière sur les événements moléculaires contrôlant le développement et l’intégration des circuits neuronaux de divers sous-types de cellules nerveuses motrices (motoneurones), avec un intérêt particulier pour les cellules vulnérables à la dégénérescence dans les maladies des motoneurones comme la sclérose latérale amyotrophique.
