The Neuroscience Mission of the McGill University Health Centre includes activities at the Montreal Neurological Hospital and the Montreal General Hospital.  We offer the highest standards of neurological and neurosurgical care and provide access to research-driven innovative diagnostics and treatments.  Our dedicated teams use advanced technologies to help patients with diseases and disorders of the nervous system.

Inpatients and outpatients are treated for medical problems related to the nervous system including, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), back problems, brain tumours, chronic pain, epilepsy, headaches, migraine, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, neurodegenerative diseases, Parkinson’s disease, stroke and other conditions.

Patients may also learn about clinical trials through the Clinical Research Unit or get information about these conditions from the Neuro-Patient Resource Centre.

With the highest concentration of neurologists and neurosurgeons in Quebec and clinician scientists in Canada, The Neuro plays a crucial role in the Quebec health care network, delivering exceptional care to thousands of patients while functioning as a critical referral centre for the most difficult neurological pathologies and for patients lacking a definitive diagnosis. Neuro physicians, nurses and allied healthcare professionals treat patients and conduct advanced research into neurological diseases and disorders. As the largest specialized neuroscience research and clinical centre in Canada, The Neuro is a central hub for neuroscience research, international projects, clinical and research training.
