Those recommendations were all included in Relationships Matter for Youth “Aging Out” of Care, a report from Melanie Doucet, a McGill University social work PhD student, and eight youth from care in B.C.

The report, released by the Representative for Children and Youth’s office Tuesday, focuses on the importance of relationships in the lives of young people in and from care. From their connections with culture and community, to their relationships from family, friends, mentors and social workers.
