From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.


Du samedi 5 octobre au lundi 7 octobre, le campus du centre-ville et le campus Macdonald ne seront accessibles qu’aux étudiants et aux membres du personnel de l’Université McGill, ainsi qu’aux visiteurs essentiels. Debunking cancer-treatment myths spread via email

The Montreal Gazette: It’s hard to know what makes people generate nonsensical emails. Perhaps it gives a feeling of power to see one’s handiwork spread around the world. And that can happen, especially if the topic is cancer and the advice given about the disease appears to come from a reputable institution. One such preposterous email that has really made the rounds is titled “Johns Hopkins Update: Alternative way to eliminate cancer.” This diatribe certainly did not originate from Johns Hopkins University; and the “advice” in it is so misleading that the university felt a need to circulate a rebuttal.
