International Young Scientist Mentorship Program – Synapse Connect

Friday, May 4, 2018 18:00to20:00
Notman House, 51 Sherbrooke St W, Montreal QC H2X 1X2
International Young Scientists Mentorship Program (IYSMP) is launching a free networking event for CÉGEP students coined Synapse Connect, which will take place on Friday, May 4th from 6-8PM at Notman House. During this evening, approximately 50 CÉGEP students from across Montreal will get to personally meet established professors, researchers and entrepreneurs from diverse STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) fields. Synapse Connect will also serve to initiate young students to the art of networking, an
important but often underappreciated skill.

IYSMP is a non-profit, student-run organization whose mission is to encourage students in high school and CÉGEP to participate in STEM-related activities early on in their academic careers. IYSMP was founded by a current McGill student in order to address the shortage of STEM-related opportunities for younger students, especially for those who study in under resourced communities.

IYSMP also hosts annual conferences with the purpose to provide a platform for high school and CÉGEP student to learn from renowned professionals and gain exposure to STEM related activities.
