Allyssa Zeagman joined the Ingram School of Nursing as Faculty Lecturer in May 2023. She started her nursing career working as a registered nurse in critical care. After several years at the bedside, she completed her Master of Nursing and Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner program at Queen’s University in Ontario. She is currently a nurse practitioner licensed in Ontario with experience working with patients across the lifespan. She has enjoyed working in clinical settings as well as providing home visits to rural patients unable to access care. She has been a part of several programs in different clinical settings, including cardiac rehab, diabetes education, lung health, mental health, and palliative care. She also has experience teaching simulation labs, resuscitation labs, as well as working with students in clinical settings as a clinical instructor. A few notable awards she has received include academic scholarships, the Governor General’s Medal, and the M.J.D. Webber Nurse Practitioner Award.
