Maria graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from McGill University in 2011, and later obtained her Master's degree in 2014. Her professional journey began as a nurse clinician on a transplant and hepatobiliary surgical unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital, where she worked from 2011 to 2015. Subsequently, she transitioned to the role of neuro-intensive care nurse clinician at the Montreal Neurological Hospital, a role she held from 2015 to 2017. In 2017, Maria embraced the position of a nursing professional development educator at the same institution.

Certified in medical surgical nursing since 2015, Maria has been continuously involved with the Ingram School of Nursing since 2014, fulfilling various responsibilities such as clinical instructor and lab educator. Currently, she holds the position of a full-time faculty lecturer and serves as the BNI Online Assistant Program Director. In this capacity, her instructional responsibilities encompass teaching clinical nursing skills, critical care skills, and health and physical assessment across graduate and undergraduate programs.

In addition to her academic and teaching responsibilities, Maria continues to actively participate as a nurse consultant at the Montreal Neurological Hospital, showcasing her steadfast commitment to both the academic realm and hands-on nursing practice.
