Susan Drouin is a lifelong learner. She holds a Bachelor of Nursing (University of New Brunswick), a Master of Science (Applied) in Nursing (McGill University), and a Master of Arts in Leadership and Education (Health) (Royal Roads University). In 2015 she completed a Doctor of Social Sciences (Royal Roads University).
During her 35 year nursing career she has enjoyed the privilege and responsibility of being a staff nurse, a nurse manager, and an associate director of nursing in: women’s health, pediatrics, mental health, surgical services, and clinical and professional staff development. Susan has experience in governance, advocacy, and health system management—serving as nursing representative on the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) Board of Directors and president of the MUHC Council of Nurses.
Susan’s held an appointment at the ISoN since 1993; she took the leap to full-time faculty in 2016 to full-heartedly pursue her interest in building capacity in the next generation of nurse leaders. Susan earned her Canadian Health Executive (CHE) credentials from the Canadian College of Health Leaders in 2015.
