Advancing knowledge and discovery

Research is an integral part of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. It is a requirement for our academicians as well as for our trainees. It ranges from Basic Science Research, Clinical Research and Epidemiological Research. The basic science research is under the Division of Reproductive Biology and includes cellular and molecular basis of mammalian reproduction and embryonic development, and investigation of Wnt signalling in endometriosis. Clinical investigations are performed by members of our divisions including research in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Maternal-Fetal Medicine, Gynecologic Oncology, Urogynecology, and Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery. Epidemiology research includes perinatal epidemiology and reproductive epidemiology. Perinatal mental is another area of our research. Works of our trainees are presented at the Research Day where awards are given for the best clinical and basic clinical papers.
