On April 6, 2016, in a letter to Divest McGill (see 
Principal Fortier’s Response to Divest McGill), Principal Suzanne Fortier committed to holding open forums in Fall 2016 “to continue the community’s dialogue on sustainability and the CAMSR report recommendations.”
Consistent with this commitment, Provost Manfredi appointed Professor Frédéric Bachand, Faculty of Law, to chair a series of three open meetings on implementing the key recommendations of the CAMSR Report.
In particular, the open forums will seek input from the community on two key matters:
- creating a “comprehensive climate action plan” to reduce measurably McGill’s own carbon footprint while expanding initiatives in sustainability research and education, and;
- developing concrete measures to ensure our investments comply with recognized Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles.
