From Saturday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 7, the Downtown and Macdonald Campuses will be open only to McGill students, employees and essential visitors. Many classes will be held online. Remote work required where possible. See Campus Public Safety website for details.

Keynote speaker: Dr. James A. Makokis

Dr. Makokis is a leading figure in North American healthcare, renowned for pioneering one of the most progressive family medical clinics committed to serving both the 2SLGBTQIA+ and First Nation peoples across Canada. One of few Indigenous physicians in Canada, he has received international recognition that stems not only from his role as a physician but also from his authorship in the fields of Indigenous health, transgender health, and culturally sensitive care. A proud Cree, Two-Spirit physician from the Saddle Lake First Nation in Northern Alberta, Dr. Makokis is a vocal supporter of 2SLGBTQIA+ rights and Two-Spirit visibility and is dedicated to education, inclusivity, and acceptance.
