Katelin Schutz named CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholar

Professor Katelin Schutz of the Department of Physics has been named a 2024-2026 CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholar in the Gravity & the Extreme Universe program.  

Professor Schutz is one of ten emerging researchers from around the world joining this year’s cohort. The initiative provides early-career researchers with two years of unrestricted funding to tackle “important and pressing questions facing science and humanity.” 

Appointed as Canada Research Chair in Astrophysics Beyond the Standard Model this past March, Professor Schutz’s work explores the composition and behavior of dark matter and its role in shaping our universe.
