Animal Science postdoc wins Concours de vulgarisation de la recherche de l’Acfas

Published: 15 May 2024

Since 1993, l'Association francophone pour le savoir (Acfas) has been inviting up-and-coming scientists to popularize their research through an annual competition.

Open to master's, doctoral and post-doctoral students from all Canadian universities, the competition encourages the production of texts, audio and video files, and comic strips that shed light on subjects from all disciplines.

We would like to congratulate Marjorie Cellier, a postdoctoral researcher in McGill's Department of Animal Science, on her winning audio clip looking at how providing cows with an exercise area to stretch their legs can improve their well-being. Marjorie is a member of Elsa Vasseur's CowLife McGill lab, which focuses on the welfare and the longevity of dairy cows.

The 2024 winners will be honoured on May 14 at the 91st Acfas Congress in Ottawa.
