Fitness Access McGill (FAM) Application Form

Fitness Access McGill (FAM) is a program that supports students with physical disabilities on campus with accessing physical activity opportunities on McGill’s campus. FAM is a collaboration with McGill Athletics & Recreation, the Office for Students with Disabilities, and the Department of Kinesiology & Physical Education. It provides individuals with an exercise program specifically tailored to their bodies, and with access to adapted exercise equipment at McGill. Exercise activities are done in small group setting, with other FAM participants, with support from a personal trainer specialized in adapted physical activity, and from students in the Department of Kinesiology & Physical Education.

This program is accepting 15 participants for the Winter 2019 semester. 

Eligibility criteria:

  • McGill student (undergraduate or graduate)
  • Student with a physical disability, chronic illness, or other impairment that currently impacts access to the gym or fitness
  • Student is interested in reducing barriers to physical activity on campus

Commitment:

  • Program is provided at a cost of 50$ for the Winter 2019 semester
  • Committed to exercise 2 or more times a week, for a ten-week program
  • Participate in the evaluation and development of this program by providing feedback and input
