Having the concept that the body and the mind are one will encourage and stimuylate a state of higher attention, helping the participants waken the "sleeping parts" of their bodies and their hidden creativity in a fun and joyful way.

Déborah Maia de Lima (Deby) is a Brazilian artist/movement researcher living in Montreal since 2014. She's been studying and working with dance, somatics, education and well-being since 2000. In Brazil, she performed as a dancer, singer and musician in Brazilian dance groups for nine years. She also served as a participant-researcher in dance-theater groups and in many Contact-Improvisation events. Based on the notion that education is a sensory experience, the main focus of this artist is to facilitate the art of movement to everyone, especially people that have no dance background. The union of her experimental field as an artist and her academic background as a researcher is what drives her to constantly create new forms of putting people in motion in a joyful, fun and emotive way.
