Leon Tourian

Dr Tourian successfully completed his residency training in psychiatry in June 2013 and a fellowship in clinical pharmacology and toxicology at McGill University, specializing in the area of pain psychiatry in 2014. During this time, he has published many peer-reviewed articles in the area of psychopharmacology.

Dr. Tourian joined the Department of Psychiatry in 2014 as an Assistant Professor and has been collaborating with both residents and training directors in his leadership role as Chair of the Selection Committee and Career Development for our Residency Program.

Dr. Tourian obtained his Doctorate in Medicine from Laval University and comes from an impressive pre-medical school background, having completed a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at McGill. He completed his Residency and a two-year fellowship in Clinical Pharmacology with a sub-specialization in Pain Psychiatry at McGill. His main academic and clinical interests are Pain Psychiatry and Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, and his clinical practice is based at the Montreal General Hospital.
