Melzack Pain Lecture Series - Virginia McEwen, MD “Mast Cell Activation Syndrome: The New Fibromyalgia?”

Virginia McEwen is currently a Clinical Pain Fellow at the Alan Edwards Pain Management Unit. She completed medical school and family medicine residency at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM). Prior to medical school, she worked as a nurse for 6 years in oncology/palliative care and also as a community health nurse in remote First Nations communities in Northern Ontario and in Inuit communities of Baffin Island. She has vested interests in a currently bearded man who helps tend up and coming investments ages 5 and 2. After the pain fellowship she will begin work with a multidisciplinary pain team in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
