Nancy Ward is Nurse Manager for the Residence and brings over 35 years of experience across diverse care settings. Completing her nursing studies at Vanier College in 1980, Nancy is also a certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse and a Certified Hospice and Palliative Care Nurse. Nancy began her career at the Jewish General Hospital, working in CVT, general surgery and across departments followed by clinic practice in obstetrics and gynecology, allergy, and general medicine. Nancy has since held care management position in CLSC home and palliative care (WeCare HomeHealth Services), in CHSLDs (Manoir de L'Ouest de l'Île, St Margaret) and Care coordination at a private long term care facility (Maison Heron). She has also worked with the Medical Council of Canada in the student evaluation process and was a volunteer in first aid teaching with St. Jean Ambulance. Since 2012, Nancy has been instrumental in expanding the Residence from 9 to 23 beds, overseeing the new 14 bed site and is now in charge of the entire nursing department of the Residence which includes approximately 60 part and full time staff. |
