West Island Palliative Care Residence Administration

Manuella Piovesan is Director, Clinical Care of the West Island Palliative Care Residence.  With a Bachelor and Masters of Social Work from McGill University, a Diploma in Management and Public Administration from Laval University, and graduate training at the Jewish General Hospital, Manuella has over 30 years of experience in frontline and management positions in Child Welfare organizations.  Beginning her career as a social counsellor for the Department of Youth Protection, she took on progressive responsibilies in supervision and program management.  Over the course of 30 years, she was responsible for clinical services in diverse areas of Child Protection including evaluation and orientation, review of practice and treatment services for children and adolescents.  For several years, Manuella was responsible for overseeing the Adoption Program, providing clinical supervsion of social workers assessing potential applicants for local and international adoption as well as facilitating the Search and Reunion Program.  In 2013 she served as Complaints Commissioner for Batshaw Youth and Family Centers.  Manuella represented the agency on various provincial and federal committees until joining the Residence in 2017, where she had been a volunteer for many years.  Manuella has been a lecturer at the Argyle Institute of Human Relations and American Association of Marital and Family Therapists, as well as McGill University, and a member of the Order Professional des Travailleurs Sociaux de Québec.  Today, Manuella oversees the nursing adn psychosocial teams and collaborates with the medical team to deliver excellent interdisciplinary care to patients and their families at the Residence.

Dale Weil is Managing Director of the Montreal Institute for Palliative Care. Dale has a BSc in Marine Biology and an MBA from McGill University. She has over 35 years of industry experience, with the last 18 years in healthcare working at McKesson Canada. She has experience in business leadership, strategy, innovation, organizational evolution, change and performance management, and stakeholder engagement.Since 1995, Dale has had various board assignments, including Kids Help Phone, West Island Palliative Care Residence Foundation, l’Association Québécoise des pharmaciens propriétaires, Institute for Strategic Analysis and Innovation for the MUHC and Advisory Council of the Ivey International Centre for Health Innovation. She served many years on the West Island Palliative Care Residence Operations Board before taking on her role at the Institute and currently serves as Director on McGill University Health Centre and Theratechnologies Inc. boards.
