Overview: In the last couple of years, AI algorithms for generating text, images, video and even other types of data, such as molecules, have taken hold in the public mindset. In this talk, I will discuss the main ideas behind generative AI, to give an intuition of how these models are trained and what their strengths and weaknesses are.
