Angelica Galante
Dr. Galante is originally from Brazil and has been in Canada for about 10 years. Growing up in a Portuguese-speaking country and in a family with Italian and Spanish heritage, mixing languages has always been the norm for her.
At school, she learned English, Esperanto, Tupi, Italian, Spanish, and Latin. Dr. Galante has developed an extensive career as an English language teacher, coordinator, theatre director, and teacher educator. She moved to Canada to pursue her graduate studies in Applied Linguistics (MA, Brock University) and Language Education (OISE/University of Toronto). With these experiences, Dr. Galante has been navigating through her multiple identities: language learner/teacher, international student, immigrant, and plurilingual speaker.
Before joining McGill as Assistant Professor in Second Language Education and Director of Plurilingual Lab in the Department of Integrated Studies in Education, she held faculty positions at Concordia University, Brock University, York University and University of Toronto.

Dra. Galante nasceu no Brasil e mora no Canadá há aproximadamente 10 anos. Cresceu em um país onde o português é a língua oficial e em uma família com origens italiana e espanhola, portanto, mesclar línguas sempre foi uma prática normal em sua vida. Na escola, aprendeu inglês, esperanto, tupi, italiano, espanhol e latim. Dra. Galante tem uma longa carreira como professora de inglês, coordenadora pedagógica, diretora de teatro, e educadora de professores. Se mudou para o Canadá para completar seus estudos de mestrado em linguística aplicada (Brock University) e estudo de línguas (OISE/University of Toronto). Com essas experiências, a Dra. Galante desenvolveu identidades múltiplas: estudante de línguas, professora, aluna internacional, imigrante e plurilingue.
Antes de ingressar na McGill como professora assistente em segunda língua e diretora do Plurilingual Lab, ela foi professora na Concordia University, Brock University, York University e University of Toronto.
