Dr. Rebecca Fuhrer is a Professor and Immediate Past Chair of the Department of Epidemiology, Biostatistics and Occupational Health, and is the Director of the MScPH Program that she recently promoted and helped develop at the Faculty of Medicine. She was the recipient of the Canada Research Chair (Tier I) in Psychosocial Epidemiology and in 2013 was elected a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. Prior to joining McGill, she held academic positions at University College London, INSERM in Paris, and the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston. Her research has focused on social determinants of mental health, in particular gender, social integration, and social position.
