Support the creation of the Psychiatry 75th Anniversary Fellowship!
Dear Colleagues, Friends, and Alumni,
This is a landmark year for the McGill Department of Psychiatry, as we will be celebrating our 75th anniversary! Since our beginnings in 1943, we have evolved into a world-renowned hospital and research network, striving for excellence in integrated research, teaching, and clinical service.
To mark this milestone, we have planned a celebration on November 29, 2018, comprised of an afternoon symposium with distinguished internationalspeakers, followed by a celebration cocktail dînatoire. The preliminary program and registration details have been posted on our website (www.mcgill.ca/psychiatry/75th-anniversary) and we will be extending an invitation to current faculty, residents, staff, and alumni. This will be a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with friends and colleagues, network, and share your successes and future vision.
In commemoration of this anniversary, we would like to request your help to raise funds to create the Psychiatry 75th Anniversary Fellowship. The fellowship would maintain and enhance the department’s legacy of providing exceptional training to the next generation of clinicians and researchers. This cross-hospital fellowship, rotating among the three McGill sites (MUHC, CIUSSS-CODIM [Jewish General Hospital] and CIUSSS-ODIM [Douglas Institute and St Mary’s Hospital]) and research institutes, will support trainees in the pursuit of excellence related to brain and mental health clinical care, research, education and innovation. This fellowship will support residents who have completed their residency in their specialty training or PhD scientists in their postdoctoral training.
We would like to raise at least $100,000 in funds to support this fellowship for a number of years.
As we would like to announce the total amount raised by our community during the evening program on November 29, we invite you to start submitting your contributions now. Please join us and consider a donation of $1,000 or more, or at a level which is comfortable for you. You can make your contribution in numerous ways and all donations are tax deductible in Canada, the United States, and in other select countries.
