Prof Schoen is in the Department of Biology. He is a population geneticist with interests in genetic systems. His students combine theory and experimental approaches to generate and test hypotheses about how such systems evolve. His lab conducts simulation and analyses of population genomic data. Present projects include the evolution of genetic self-recognition systems and epigenetic modification.
